The 2019-20 bowling season was formally opened by Bowls Waikato President, Joe Curry, at Te Awamutu on Saturday.  Apart from a few, very brief, showers and a gentle breeze, conditions were excellent for the occasion.  Joining with Te Awamutu for a combined opening to the season was most fitting.  A moment of silence was held as a mark of respect for Trevor Wright who passed away earlier in the week.  Trevor had been a highly respected and prominent bowler in the Waikato for many years.  A wonderful shared lunch contributed to the warm hospitality of the day.
